Mar 01 2017 Written by: Pedro O'Connor
Pedro recently privately guided a Texan couple on a 28 day ultimate Australia journey. Travelling the length and breadth of the country by private jet, they were blessed with mainly good weather, ranging from 45 degrees in The Kimberley to snow in Tasmania in the south... [Read More]

OUR GUIDES AND TRAVELLERS REPORT FROM AROUND THE GLOBE
The Best of the Top End & The Kimberley, Australia
Brad and Pedro are just back from hosting renowned UK journalist, Sophy Roberts, on her first ever Australian adventure. They spent 11 nights exploring Kakadu, East Arnhem Land and the Kimberley region; they hiked up spectacular sandstone gorges, air boated over miles of endless floodplains into crocodile infested paper bark swamps, enjoyed four wheel drive safaris through pandanus groves and termite mound ridden terrain and cruised up river gorges by towering granite escarpments dotted with aboriginal rock art. The journey culminated in a breathtaking helicopter safari into the most beautiful freshwater swimming hole they have ever swum in before the mind-blowing ...
Wildman Wilderness Lodge
Pedro and I were privileged to stay at Wildman Wilderness Lodge and experience the Northern Territory (NT) at its best. Everything in NT is big – the landscapes are expansive, the crocodiles are enormous, the anthills resemble small high-rise buildings, the storm clouds tower above the horizon and the hospitality is extremely warm and welcoming. Wildman Wilderness Lodge is an intimate safari-style lodge situated about 170 kilometres (about 2 hours drive) from Darwin. The lodge comprises of a central lodge, 10 air-conditioned cabins (‘Habitats’) and 15 Safari Tents, all which en-suite bathrooms. The view from your room is across the floodplain ...
Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa - Activities
Marg and I also recently had the opportunity to explore Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa, and would like to share our thoughts. The resort is a 3 hour drive from Sydney through stunning sandstone escarpment and large eucalypt country. The ultimate access is by helicopter via the Blue Mountains National Park with scenic views of The Three Sisters enroute. The resort is situated on 4,000 acres and is a haven for those seeking an authentic, rural Aussie experience without compromising on any luxuries. The abundance of wallabies, kangaroos, wombats and birdlife is outstanding. Whether in a vehicle, on bicycle, horseback or on ...
Wilderness Adventure in Australia's Remote Northwest
Trekking, paddling and abseiling their way through the remote north-western Kimberley region of Australia, Brad Horn and his small group of like-minded adventurers have just returned from a spectacular trip. Challenging, yet intensely satisfying, they lapped up the wilderness and camped in swags each night. Of course an Epic expedition wouldn't be right without a little luxury thrown in - they finished up with an extended low level helicopter flight through the dramatic landscape. Check out the video to get the full picture. This adventure was designed for a group of friends all wishing to push themselves and test their mettle in ...
Crocodiles and Culture in the NT
“Water, water everywhere and all the boards did shrink…….” The words of the famous poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge could quite easily be used to describe the Northern Territories amazing “Top End." I have just returned from a truly authentic Australian adventure to the World Heritage Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land that has left me in awe of the stunning landscape, rich abundance of wildlife, ancient culture of the Australian Aborigines and the truly genuine Aussie hospitality of the Territorians. My travel companions and I were collected from our very luxurious Balinese-themed villas situated near the Darwin Botanic Gardens by our ...
Groote Eylandt - A Fisherman's Paradise
The warm tropical waters that brew cyclones at the start of the monsoon season in far northern Australia make for hot fishing action. Pedro spent a few days recently at Escape Sportfishing and Wilderness Lodge on remote Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory. He came home smiling after catching some prize fish. The eco-friendly, tented safari camp comprises 12 twin share tents each with en suite, air conditioning and feather-soft beds that ensure you sleep well after a long day hauling in fish. The fishing philosophy is one of catch and release, but invariably a sample reaches the dinner table. The ...
