Small Group Journeys

Epic Private Journeys offers a suite of exceptional small group safaris throughout Africa. Led by one of our top guides, these trips offer a vast range of experiences. As our clients always tell us, it's the guide who makes the trip, through sharing their passion, knowledge and experience of the places they love. Some of the journeys are designed to be active, with others more focused on traditional game viewing in prime wildlife areas.

These safaris have been designed to ensure you're at the right place at the right time, with the very best people, to maximise your experience. Accommodation varies depending on the location. You might be in a mobile fly camp, immersed in a unique environment on our more adventurous programs - or one of the stunning permanent luxury tented camps. No matter, our fabulous Epic team will guarantee your bed, pillow and surrounds are always extremely comfortable and well appointed in wild, wonderful and remote locations.

Whatever your choice of safari, activities and destinations, these journeys are unique and often life-changing. If the dates don't suit or you wish to vary a program, we'll do our best to make it work for your group.

The Great Migration Safari

The Great Migration Safari

8 nights, US$9662 per person sharing Serengeti & Masai Mara

This is a "bucket list" safari; witnessing the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. Early September is prime time to see the migration as it ebbs and flows between the far north of the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya. Crossings of the Mara River are the "holy grail" at this time and we will be looking to witness this incredible spectacle. Add to this arguably Africa's highest concentrations of predators hoping to make the most of the seasonal glut of food and you have the makings of a spectacular safari. Accommodations are beautifully appointed, well located classic styled tented camps.
Group size: 8.

The Best of Zambia

The Best of Zambia

11 nights, Price from US$11,150
Luangwa, Lower Zambezi

South Luangwa National Park and the Lower Zambezi are two of the finest wildlife destinations in Africa. Both areas convey the feeling of true Africa – remote and wild with stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. South Luangwa is widely regarded as one of the finest walking safari destinations in Africa so there is always plenty of walking opportunities here. In addition, day and night game-drives are offered. The lower Zambezi offers perhaps the most diverse safari experience in Africa with both land and water based activities on offer; game-drives (by day and night), walks, canoeing, motor-boating and fishing. Your accommodations are beautifully appointed intimate bush camps; rustic elegance with modern conveniences.

Great Wilderness Journey

Great Wilderness Journey

10 nights, from US$9,349 per person sharing Botswana & Zambia

This is a great soft adventure safari taking in some phenomenal wildlife areas. It is ideal for families. The journey commences in Victoria Falls in Zambia, before heading through the wilds of Linyanti in Botswana finishing in the fabled Okavango Delta. Aside from excellent game viewing, there is boating and mokoros (dug out canoes) on offer in the heart of the Okavango and a boat cruise along the game rich Chobe River. Accommodation is in beautifully appointed permanent tented camps. The dates are flexible, and we require just two people in order for this trip to run.

Emerald Botswana Safari

Emerald Botswana Safari

9 nights, from US$8320 per person sharing Linyanti & Okavango

After nearly 8 months with no rain, the beginning of the rainy season in Botswana is probably the most spectacular time to be there on safari. The rain comes in the occasional short, sharp thunderstorms, which if anything enhances the experience. The game viewing is spectacular. It is a "time of plenty". Animals such as impala, warthog and wildebeest are dropping their babies and the short green grass which means it is a good time of year to find predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog looking for an easy meal. This popular safari goes to three of Botswana's finest safari camps. Group size: 8-12.

Epic Kilimanjaro

Epic Kilimanjaro

8 nights from US$4,625

Mt Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free standing mountain, stands as a serious challenge to anyone looking to climb. Whilst it is not a technical climb – rather a very challenging hike - the altitude is extreme (at 5,895 metres) and can impact even the fittest of people. We ordinarily recommend one of two routes; the Machame (over 6 nights/7 days) or the Lemosho (over 7 nights/8 days). Our climbs are done in relative comfort with your own private camp portered up the mountain, with highly experienced and very safety-conscious guides and crew. Safety is of paramount importance and your crew leaves no stone unturned.
Minimum of 2 people.
