Epic Private Journeys (EPJ) is a privately owned and operated business with head office located in Brisbane, Australia with employees in Africa, Europe and America. We are linked via email and internet/cloud based platforms and data is shared internally for the purposes of making travel bookings. Read on to find out What data we collect and why.

Nothing is changing about your current settings or how your information is processed. Rather, we’ve improved the way we describe our practices and how we explain the options you have to update and delete your data.

What data we collect and how we use it
Epic Private Journeys (EPJ) collect and store personal client data that is relevant to any travel booked through us.
The data collected includes names and contact details, passport and birth date information provided to us via a secure online data collection form, phone or email and for use in processing travel arrangements as requested.
We use online journey planning systems which we add some of your data to, including passport and itinerary details, so you have easy access to it while travelling. We only share relevant data with our trusted travel providers and operator partners for the purpose of creating a seamless travel experience.
Contact & Systems
When visitors submit an Enquiry or Contact Us request via our website, we collect the data provided in the form and respond as appropriate.
If you have requested information from Epic via phone, website or email, or if you know or have made contact with one of our sales team and private guides, we collect and store name, country location and email contact details in a secure Email Service Provider (ESP).
We also use a secure Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to store this information.
We do not store online any payment details provided to us and we process all payments using secure systems such as bank transfer and direct transfer.
As mentioned above, if you are a client of Epic, we use your personal data for the purposes of making and personalising your travel arrangements as requested.
We use any email contact information for the purpose of communicating with you via monthly emails about our journeys past and future. You can unsubscribe from our email databases at anytime by following the unsubscribe link in the email communications or contacting us directly.
Social Media and Analytics
We use data available from Google Analytics code on our website and insights on our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube) to analyse and better understand our audience and potential customers. This is so we can tailor the content we share online and ensure it is most relevant to you.
We do not currently use or pay for data targeting through advertising on any social media platforms.
All our social media communications are distributed organically with curated content we feel will be interesting to our followers and supporters.
If you would prefer your data not to be collected online generally, we suggest you regularly clear cookies from your internet browser and update the privacy settings on your social media channels.
If you visit our site or any sites on the internet, ‘cookies’ or tracking code collect your IP data. You should clear your URL cache history to reduce your online footprint.
Embedded content from other websites
This site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites that behave in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We sometimes use Client Images and Testimonials on our website, email communications and social media accounts and we obtain permission and use credit as required. Most images used in our marketing and communications are the property of Epic Private Journeys.
What rights you have over your data
Security & Data Protection
We respect your privacy as valued clients of our business and protect your data to the best of our ability by keeping our internal systems and storage up to date and secure.
We do not, nor would we ever, sell or share your personal data for use by third parties.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Please email email@example.com if you would like all data records to be removed from our systems.
What you can do
Of course, you can ‘unfollow’ Epic or deactivate your social media accounts at any time if you do not wish to receive updates from us.
And if you would no longer like us to contact you please unsubscribe from our email databases.
If at any time you no longer want us to store your client data or receive future communications you can contact us to request your data is removed from our Customer Relationship Management System and/or email communication database.
