Richard Field

Richard Field

Africa

Richard Field is a passionate naturalist and photographer, and has worked as a safari guide in Africa for the last 14 years. He loves everything about Africa's wilderness areas, but for him these experiences are only complete when he gets to share them with other people. His aim is for people to walk away from a safari experience feeling the same way that he does about the African bush. A true trans-Africa guide, Richard is available as a private guide throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Northern Botswana, a place he called home for 8 years, is still his ultimate safari destination.

Africa

Alastair has been outdoors since his first day and still is! After completing a science degree in agriculture he travelled North America and Europe before beginning his guiding career in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 1998. His enthusiasm for reptiles, birds, photography, botany and big game tracking was matched by the diversity on offer in the various game reserves of South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In 2005 he and his wife went to live and work in the Serengeti where he managed a large community-owned wildlife concession, trained guides and led walking safaris for 3 years.

Alastair is currently based in Cape Town and guides Epic clients on naturalist tours in the area and surrounding Biosphere Reserves. A tour with Alastair combines finding the special wildlife of the area, patience to get the right photographs and taking just enough time to have fun and appreciate the magic of each destination.
