Africa’s hidden gem

Zambia is Africa’s hidden gem and harks back to a by-gone era where safaris were first and foremost about the experience. Recognised as the home of the walking safari, Zambia offers an incredible range of habitat. The hospitality is second to none and the Zambian people are renowned for their generosity of spirit. Yes, we love Zambia!

Without a doubt, in Zambia you come pretty close to finding the ‘real’ Africa.

Zambia shares all 1.7 km of Victoria Falls with Zimbabwe and many of our clients stay on the Livingstone (Zambia) side of the Falls when venturing on safari.

Combining perfectly with the Falls are the two most popular national parks of the South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi. This combination offers a tremendous range of activities both land and water based; walking, driving, canoeing, motor-boating and fishing.

The camps in Zambia are probably best described as ‘rustically elegant’. They are most importantly small and provide a homely, welcoming atmosphere to guests.

Zambia is a fantastic destination for families because of the diverse range of activities and is generally easier on the pocket when compared to some other destinations in the region.

To get the best out of your safari experience you should allow a minimum of 8 nights (not including Victoria Falls) divided between the Luangwa and Zambezi National Parks.

As a safari destination, Zambia is more seasonal than others but in the dry months (June – October), there are few peers in terms of wildlife action. Some areas shut down during the rains from mid November to about March/April.
