Epic Uganda Experiences
Uganda is not called the “pearl of Africa” without reason.
It is a country of contrasts; extensive savannah eco-systems in the north to dense rainforests in the south. Uganda houses the full complement of African game; great variety of plains game and predators, chimps and of course, mountain gorillas.
It really is a safari destination in its own right and we have done numerous dedicated safaris here over the years. It is also sometimes included as a ‘gorilla add-on destination’ to safaris that have taken in other countries such as Tanzania and Rwanda. It can also form the basis of a primate specific safari in combination with Rwanda. It all depends upon your safari intentions.
Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, its diverse landscape includes the snowcapped “Mountains of the Moon”, the spectacular Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria in eastern equatorial Africa. Uganda offers the full gamut of primates, predators and plains-game. In our experience it is more a second or third time safari destination than a first time African experience.
Seasonal considerations are the same as Rwanda. The rainy months are April, May and November.
Mid-December – February and Mid-June – Mid-October

6 Nights Classic Uganda
Uganda offers a good value for money primate experience ( gorilla and chimpanzee trekking) combined with more conventional wildlife safari in several very scenic National Parks around Uganda. Lodges and camps are chosen based on excellent service and reasonable price points. Most of the lodges and camps used have solid relationships with their local communities they support and village visits to cafes, schools, clinics and local artisans is encouraged to understand the benefits to these communities from the conservation of their natural resources. Uganda can easily be combined with either Rwanda or with Kenya or Tanzania to create a comprehensive East African safari. When to Travel
